My Story…

Welcome! I’m Eleanor, the baker and designer behind The Maplewood Bakery.

My love for baking began with my mum. Growing up, I’d come home from school to the smell of something fresh from the oven, and weekends were spent by her side — learning, tasting, and (of course) licking the spoon. It was in those early memories that sparked a lifelong passion for creating, and I’ve been baking ever since.

Fast forward a few years, and The Maplewood Bakery was born — on my 20th birthday, no less! What started as a small idea in my home kitchen has grown into a business that brings me endless joy. I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days creating cakes that celebrate life’s most special moments — from milestone birthdays to wedding days, and everything in between. Every design is made with care, attention to detail, and a genuine love for what I do.

To me, this work is so much more than baking — it’s a blend of art, flavour, and connection. Each cake tells a story, and I’m honoured to play a small part in so many beautiful celebrations.
