My Story…

Hi! I'm Eleanor Hyatt and this is how my baking story began…

My baking knowledge and ability is all down to my mother. As a young girl, I would come home from school every day to the sweet smell of home-baked cake! It was there in those early years of learning and wisdom when I first experienced the elation that comes from creative cooking. Growing older, I continued to bake. This was my passion and the kitchen became my domain.

The Maplewood Bakery is my small bakery from home in Old Windsor. I started my business on my 20th birthday, putting to work my experience to create cakes I love. Despite the many years of sweat, blood and tears in the kitchen, I count myself incredibly lucky to live life doing something I love.

To me my work is an opportunity to learn and evolve as a cake maker, designer, and a business owner. A life-long journey that has only just begun.
